Is Croatia in Schengen?

Yes. Croatia joined on 1 January 2023. Days in Croatia count toward your 90, and there are no passport checks between Croatia and Slovenia or Hungary.

Are Romania and Bulgaria in Schengen?

Yes. Both joined at air and sea borders on 31 March 2024 and fully, including land borders, on 1 January 2025. Days there count toward your 90.

Is Cyprus in Schengen?

No, not yet. Cyprus is an EU country but not yet a full Schengen member: internal border controls have not been lifted and no date has been set. The European Commission says its integration "is currently underway". Days in Cyprus do not count toward your Schengen 90, and Cyprus still stamps passports rather than using the EES.

Does Ireland count for Schengen?

No. Ireland is an EU country that opted out of Schengen. It runs its own border controls and shares a Common Travel Area with the UK. Time in Ireland does not count toward your 90 days.

Is the UK in Schengen?

No. The UK has its own visitor rules, so days there do not count toward the 90. It does not reset your Schengen count either — see UK–Schengen hopping explained.

Is Switzerland in Schengen?

Yes. Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein are outside the EU but full Schengen members, so days there count.
