Privacy
Short answer: Your trips stay in your own browser. Schengen Days has no ads, no trackers, no cookies and no analytics. The only personal data we can hold is your email address, and only if you choose to sign up for rule-change alerts.
Who is responsible
LastLap Lab LLC (United States) runs Schengen Days and is the controller of any personal data described here. Contact: geoff@mylastlap.com.
Your trips
The trips you enter are saved in your browser on your device (local storage). They are not sent to us. If you choose to sign in with Harbor, your trips are also stored in your Harbor account so they sync between devices; you can export or delete them at any time.
The embedded widget
The widget on other websites stores trips only in the reader’s browser. It sends nothing to us or to the website it is on.
Rule-change alerts (optional)
- What we keep: your email address, the date you signed up and the wording you agreed to. Nothing about your trips.
- What we send: a short email only when a Schengen rule changes — for example ETIAS opening, EES changes or a country joining. That is a few times a year at most. No marketing, and we never share or sell your address.
- Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw it at any time.
- How to unsubscribe: use “Remove my email” on the calculator page in the same browser, or reply “unsubscribe” to any alert. We delete your address within 30 days.
- Where it is stored: with Harbor (harbor.it.com), the platform that hosts this site, which processes it on our behalf. The data may be stored outside the EU.
- Alerts are best-effort and may be late or missed; see the terms.
Hosting
Harbor hosts the site. Like any web host, it handles basic technical data (such as IP addresses) to serve pages and prevent abuse.
Your rights
If you are in the EU, the UK or a similar jurisdiction, you can ask to access, correct or delete your data, withdraw consent, and complain to your data protection authority (in Spain, the AEPD).
